Büyükelçilik

The foundation of Türkiye’s relations with Estonia which declared its independence on 24 February 1918, rests on the "Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation" signed on 1 December 1924 by the representatives of both countries residing in Warsaw. Türkiye’s first diplomatic mission in Tallinn was opened in 1935 and Nuri Batu who was posted to Tallinn on 4 September 1935, presented his credentials to Konstantin Päts, the first President of Estonia, on 19 September 1935.

Türkiye did not recognize the Soviet occupation of Estonia (1940-1991). Following Estonia's regaining its independence on 20 August 1991, a Joint Declaration was signed on 23 October 1991 announcing the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Estonia.

Turkish Embassy operates in a building which is under protection as a national cultural heritage and is located on Narva Street, which stretches from Tallinn's old town center to the historic Kadriorg Park where the Presidential Palace is situated.
