We welcome the convening of the Libyan House of Representatives by holding its inaugural meeting on 4 August 2014, and the resolution adopted for the ceasefire envisaged to be implemented between the conflicting parties in Libya.

We wish that the newly formed House of Representatives will open up a new horizon in the democratic transition process in the country and will take a leading role for an inclusive national dialog process.

The President of the Republic of Turkey and the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey have sent congratulatory messages to H.E. Mr. Aguila Salah Eisa Gwaider on the occasion of his election as Speaker of the House of Representatives of Libya and have wished him success in his new duties.
