No: 79, 18 March 2017, Press Release Regarding the Demonstration Organised Today ( 18 March) in Frankfurt

Republic Of Türkiye Ministry Of Foreign Affairs 18.03.2017

It is unfortunate that the German authorities allowed the demonstration today (18 March) in Frankfurt where the symbols of the terrorist organization PKK and the pictures of the arch-terorist were displayed.

In terms of fight against terrorism, it is extremely thought-provoking that Germany is overlooking the activity of an organisation which she, herself, declared as terrorist, and raising no objection to symbols and flags officialy announced to be banned.

On the other hand, while the slogans of " No" concerning the referendum in Turkey were allowed to be screamed out during the demonstration of the terrorist organisation, creating all possible difficulties for the Turkish deputies to meet with their own citizens, is a very serious example of the double standard approach.

We fully condemn this insincere approach.

Our reaction has been immediately conveyed to the German Ambassador in Ankara.
