No: 169, 13 June 2019, The Decision of Moldova on the Relocation of its Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem

Republic Of Türkiye Ministry Of Foreign Affairs 14.06.2019

We are deeply concerned about the reports on the relocation of Moldova’s Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. We find it extremely strange that the issue of the status of Jerusalem, which is of key importance with regard to reaching a just and lasting solution to the question of Palestine, is being exploited with internal political considerations, in violation of international law.

We call upon all members of the international community to comply with the United Nations resolutions on Jerusalem, to respect its historical and legal status and to refrain from irresponsible acts that would jeopardize the stability of our region.
